Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find out my ring size?
To get your ring size, you can measure the internal diameter of a ring you have already that fits you. If you imagine a line going through the middle of the ring, the internal diameter is the distance between the two ends of where the line meets the inside of the ring.
If you don't have a ring that fits the finger you want to wear your new ring on, you can use a piece of twine or string, wrap it around your finger (it should be snug but not too tight), and then measure the length of the string.
Where possible, if you can provide either of the above two measurements in millimetres.
What’s the best way to take care of my jewellery?
With solid sterling silver and solid gold, you can wear your jewellery anywhere. You can get them wet, get perfume/ aftershave, moisturiser etc on them and they won't stain or fade or leave stains on your skin. You can clean your jewellery using dish soap or hand soap and a toothbrush to remove normal dirt.
Sterling silver and gold can tarnish over time, but this can be easily removed. Simply mix half a cup of white vinegar and a half tablespoon of baking soda/ bicarbonate of soda in a small bowl of room temperature water. Leave your jewellery to soak in the mixture for a few hours and use a toothbrush to get into any crevices. Then rinse throughly with water and use a towel to dry.
What is a bespoke piece and how can I order one?
A bespoke piece is made to your exact specifications and is usually the result of some conversation between the customer and I while we work through ideas and styles. They can be based on something I have made before that you like but would like to change somewhat, or it can be something completely different prompted by an idea you have or something that is particularly special or unique to you. To order something bespoke, please get in touch using my contact form, or by sending me an e-mail to ciaraegandesign@gmail.com.
Please note, bespoke pieces can take up to 7-8 weeks depending on the piece. If you need a piece sooner, just ask and I will accommodate you where I can.
Can all rings be made in any size?
Most rings can be made in any size, but some rings, particularly rings with stones in them, are somewhat limited in the amount they can have their sizes changed. Do always get in touch to ask if it's possible and I will let you know.
How long does it take to deliver something I have ordered?
